I try to clean myself a few minutes after close, but it’s almost pointless. The rags I have to work with smell faintly like grease, so I’m pretty much just wiping grease off with more grease. I’m not sure Laura cares, but I want to do right by her.

When I told her how I felt about her, her face nearly lit up with excitement, but there was also some fear in her eyes. As though she was certain that at any second I was going to tell her I was punking her. But it was mostly excitement.

And when I mentioned having her undressed in the bedroom on the verge of an orgasm, the way her cheeks pinkened with desire made me want to lift her up on her desk right then and there and see if I could achieve it. That was partially why I asked her to stay after work. I wanted to see where this was going to go. Maybe it would lead to a date, or maybe something else. Laura didn’t give much away.

The men had all filtered out pretty quickly. They had other jobs, wives or girlfriends, or something else to get home to. So after getting as cleaned up as I was going to get, I hightailed it to the office where Laura was still engulfed in work. She was no longer working on a spreadsheet, but her brunette locks were now piled high on her head in a clip as she scanned documents on her duplicate screens.

I let myself in the office. “Hey, gorgeous,” I greet with a smile and head to the front doors to check if they’re locked. “Busy?”

She stands up and I can tell from the nervous smile on her lips that she isn’t sure what’s going to happen next. “I was staying that way while I waited for you. So what did you want to talk about, Hunter?” Laura comes from around her desk and leans against the side, arms crossed over her body.

This type of body language is usually defensive and means stay away, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to stay away from Laura now that I’ve finally gotten her to open up. It took me a year to finally make a move. I’m not the type to usually be shy, but I was afraid of making that move because I didn’t want her to get scared away or think I was too old or anything. Now that she knows that I’m interested and I know she’s interested, too, I’m not going to let something like defensive body language keep the two of us apart.

I casually cross the room from the front door and make my way over to her. “Well, I wanted to see if you’d thought about what we discussed earlier. You know, about the whole dating thing. You being my girlfriend, us going on dates, cooking dinner together, having sex, the whole thing.”

Her face flushes again when I say the word ‘sex’ and my grin grows even larger.
